With the misty damp weather closing in we have been listening to the rustling of leaves -watching them fall from the trees and investigating bugs and creatures under logs. Much mud mixing and splashing has been going on too!

The bonfire cake looked fab sparkling and spitting in the fire pit area - it was good to eat too!

We have cleared the top deciduous forest school area - it was half covered with brambles and weeds and a dead pigeon !  but the children were delighted to rediscover the mud kitchen.

Welcome back !
and what a difference 8 weeks make,
The forest school site is looking very different now to how it was back in the summer, and the children are enjoying noticing the change from summer to autumn.
We have been making nests and dens for our animal friends, from the fallen sticks and leaves found on the forest floor. We have been finding slugs and snails in abundance, woodlice and spiders too, the children have really enjoyed exploring the forest school looking to see what they can find.

Hello
well a lot has happened since the last time i wrote, and i do apologise !
We have been in the Coniferous woodland through the winter months, where there has been an abundance of birds and pine cones. We have enjoyed playing with the mud kitchen, making log piles to encourage mini beasts, shelter building for ourselves and for the the soft toys, we have had a couple of fires and cooked toast and toasted marsh mallows, we have boiled water in the kelly kettle and made custard for our snack.
The larger Forest school site has been having a rest, so hopefully the mini beasts and the wildlife will all of had chance to build new homes and the flora will have had chance to grow with out little feet trampling them!
After Easter we will be returning to this site where the daffodils will be in full bloom, the trees will have begun to grow leaves, and the undergrowth will be coming to life once again.
